Other recent contracts I've been denied are more realistic and frustrating to lose, namely the military ones for Pickup Trucks. They were offering over $5000 per unit and wanted a fairly large number of them. My material cost for that is like $770 and it's very close to maxed out in every way. I offered them my racing chassis which is not only my lightest one but also the one with the space for largest engine. They wanted a Chassis only requirement was that it be under 646 lbs. Well latest contract I was denied I really didn't expect to win anyways since it's been exceedingly rare for me to win the Gear City Cup component contracts during other saves. If spending a fortune monthly for lobbying isn't going to help me win these lucrative contracts then I'll likely reduce the amount I spend there drastically as I'm not planning to build anything in next couple years other than a few more branches and other than the reduced cost for major building other benefits for lobbying aren't really worth it to me at present.
It now just says you lose, try to do better in future with no indication as to what you should be looking to do better with. Unlike previously the contracts memo no longer tells you how much the underbid you or if they somehow had better components/vehicles. Since most of these contracts have a fixed offer price it's not like I'm being underbid here so what am I doing wrong or is it just really bad RNG that keeps denying me contracts? Not to mention in most cases they would have to be getting my vehicles to even meet the specs in most cases. Since I'm just starting 1902 there is almost no used vehicles for sale so it's not like these outside contractors are gobbling up old vehicles then reconditioning them for contract purposes or the like. However I keep getting denied for most of the contracts I bid on with the winning bidders being the "Outside Contractors" and not my competition among the other car companies.įor a number of these contracts I had the only vehicle/component capable of meeting the specifications for the contract and those components/vehicles are the highest rated on the market. That's over half a million dollars a month for last 2 years I've spent greasing palms in hopes of getting the inside track for wining contracts. So since I started current game with a pile of cash I maxed out my Lobbying effort from beginning.
